We will do our level best to ensure that all activities are conducted as scheduled. However, all Ceremonies and activities are subject to change, according to the realities of moving a Stone, the Whims of Mother Nature, or unforeseeable circumstances. We will announce any changes by posting notices around Camp in various locations, and will probably also send someone around to let folks know, too. Go with the flow, stay flexible, and keep a sense of humor! The Stones always have the last word!!

The Pathways of Service
Stones Rising is a celebration of Service, of Vocation, of the sacred Call of the Divine to each one of us to serve the Land and the People in our own way. Here there are no passive spectators; each of us must actively participate for the People as a whole to perform the magical work of Raising Stones. We do this by following the Call of our Hearts to create the conditions for Stones Rising to happen in a good way. You are not limited to any one Pathway, nor are you required to participate in more than one. Perhaps you will see a need that isn’t even listed here or addressed.

This year we have condensed and streamlined the Pathways. Some of you have already been drafted ... stepped up into specific roles of Service.

Preparing the Loaves of the Corn Mother
– Baking hundreds of loaves of bread to share before Sunday’s Rising of the Standing Stones.

Sacral Foods
– Preparing sustenance for the Stone Crews and Witnesses during the Stone Pulls and Rising.

Stone People
– Rigging and positioning the Stones during their Rising. Prybars, rollers, rigging, and cribbing. Must attend work sessions to participate during the Rising.

The Baby Blessing
– Welcome children to the Tribe - passing them through the Mother Stone! If this is your child’s first Stones Rising, sign up to be part of this beautiful blessing.

Ceremonial & Spirit Drums
– Through rhythm, song, and chant, honoring the Stones, People, Land and Spirits. In support of the ceremonies and the Rising.

Staff Photographers/Videographers
– Providing a visual history of our Tribe and Stone Circle. If you are not a staff photographer, DO NOT take photographs during ceremonies. Arrange with office if interested.

Those Who Remember: Sacred Witnesses
Another critical role at Stones Rising – Those who watch, listen, and remember. This is not passive observation: this is a sacred calling to be mindful of the spiritual work of others, and to determine if it is being done in a good way. This service to the community is unique, the only one that is needed at every ceremonial of Stones Rising, and it draws all Stones Rising participants together in responsible attentiveness. The act of Witnessing is crucial. It is the Witness who says: “I was there. I saw. It was done in a good way.”
