“Santeria Show & Tell & Ceremony of Offerings to Ellegua”

Join us for a teaching Moon Service about some of the in's and out's of Santeria! Learn about the & African Powers-the Seven Major Orishas of the Lucumi Faith, (the principle deities) get to see some actual altars of the Religion, and a little time for questions and answers.
We will also briefly discuss the “Letter of the Year:” which is the Major Divination from many Babal'awos ( Priests of Ifa) in Havana, who gather on New Years' Day to cast an Ifa divination that "rules" the upcoming year.
This “Show and Tell” will be followed by a Small Ceremony of offerings to Ellegua, the Orisha of the doorway.
If you wish to bring an offering to Ellegua, you may do so, but it is not required. He likes: .21 cents, $3.00, red fruits, white rum, cigars, and red hard candies-particularly spicy ones, like atomic fireballs.
White clothing is encouraged but not required. White head coverings are required for ceremony, but we have plenty to share if you do not have one!
Church Supper: 5:30 pm, Farmhouse, ~pam and Sean in service
Menu: Arroz con pollo, ( Traditional Cuban-style chicken, vegetables, and rice) yellow rice, coconut rice, white beans, passionfruit mousse.

Learn about the Orisha featured in the evening ceremony, and how he rules the ever changing doorways of life, and the Liminal Spaces that exist at those critical crossroads.
