Sweat Lodge, and sacred fire, being prepped for ceremony.
For those who wish an opportunity to experience Sweat Lodge Ceremony outside of a regular Four Quarters event, we are offering a Fall Community Sweat Lodge.
This will be a stand-alone Sweat Lodge Ceremony, without having to register for a larger Four Quarters Event. We are offering a Saturday Afternoon Sweat Lodge with time for conversations and teachings, exploring aspects of Sweat Lodge as Community Ceremony, and for the willing, some practical learn-by-doing! Chop Wood! Carry Water! Haul Stones!
While our Sweat Lodge is active at most of the event weekends of the year, there has been a growing call for more opportunities to experience this spiritual tradition. Come for the day, or make it a weekend camping on the land – Saturday sweat is scheduled for the afternoon, try to arrive before noon.
Chop Wood! Carry Water! The service that enables Sweat Lodge. Sweat Teaching Weekend 2023.
If you are interested in learning more, we encourage people to volunteer at any event where sweat is active. We host a four day Spring Intensive Sweat Lodge Teaching Weekend on or around Memorial Day Weekend. Our Sweat Lodge Teachings provide opprtunities for deeper immersion into the lore, stories, songs, and introduction to the practical techniques of Lodge. If you have been moved by your own experience of Sweat Lodge or curious to learn morre about the process of ceremony, this is for you! If you've been volunteering down at the Lodge and would like to learn more about what we do and why, the Teaching Weekend is a further opportunity to spend time learning and sharing with our Ceremony Leaders and Ceremonial Team.
We serve the ceremony and the ceremony serves the people. Please be welcome around our fires.
Toksha akhe! Mitáquye oyasín!
