April 7th, 2012 Full Moon Service

This Moon Service & Church Supper will be provided as an Act of Service by Patty.

The Universal Temple of Spirits has been invited to bring their Trance Dance/Drumming ceremony to Four Quarters for this Moon Service.  The theme for the ceremony is "the Spirits of Emergence".  If you have a Spirit/Deity that embodies Emergence and you want to honor them in this ceremony, we can do that.  Please bring the name of the Spirit/Deity and a song, an altar item and a design (that will be drawn in cornmeal) for them, if you have those.

These ceremonies are often several hours long, but it is an open circle, and there are rest breaks.  You are free to come and go and rejoin as you please. We plan to have the ceremony on the Dance Pavilion in camp starting around 7pm.  Dinner will be at 6pm.  The service begins with an extended series of songs called a "Prayer of the World", followed by drawing designs (or veves) in cornmeal, followed by drumming/singing/dancing to the Spirits invoked.

Feel free to bring along your drums and camp chairs as well.  Snack food and water is also a good idea. Think along the lines of spending an evening at the fire circle, except that it is at the Dance Pavilion where Trance Possession by Spirits/Deities is encouraged, and you will have the general idea.
