Dr. Jennifer Phillips; a Licensed Naturopathic Physician. Her specialties include family medicine, nutrition, women's health, allergies, and detoxification.
       
Natural Health for Women - Learn why good health can and should come naturally. If you have disease or would like to prevent disease, this workshop will get you started to creating health in stead of waiting for disease or a cure.
       
Belly Dance for Vibrant Health - Join Dr. Jen in a vigorous and inspiring workout where we explore the ancient art of Middle Eastern Dance to stimulate and liberate the female energy within. All ages, sizes, and shapes are welcome- no experience necessary! Bring a skirt, scarves, bells, jingles and anything to adorn the waist- all of this will enhance your experience.

 
Augustine Daniels; a Mother of three, a doula, breastfeeding counselor, childbirth mentor and natural health advocate, as well as a experienced herbal and homepathic user.
       
Making your own herbal remedies and when to use them - Come and learn the basics in natural care for yourself and your family. You will see a demo of making an infusion, a tincture, and a salve. take home samples will be provided. also included is how to wildcraft herbs and foods.
       
The Use of Herbal remedies for pregnancy, birth and the newborn - Some herbs are contraindicated during the childbearing year, come and see which ones work and which should be avoided; and how to use natural means to achieve pain relief in birth. Of special interest is the care of newborns with homeopathy.
       
The Wise-Woman Way of Mothering - topics discussed include: Breastfeeding is bestfeeding; The Vaccination issue; Attachment parenting in a disattached world; alternative health care for children and where to find support
       
Plus, A Red Tent session on natural healing and wellness - an advanced herbalist round table discussion challenging and supporting our own empirical knowledge of herbal remedies. People who actively use and study herbs, homeopathy or natural remedies are welcome to participate.

Antoinette Mascio; Certified Yoga instructor, will be holding a Yoga for Crones session each day of the gathering. Yoga for everybody!

 
Sharon Sickafuse; a student and teacher of the dances of the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, and Turkey for the past 13 years.
      
The Guedra - Performed by the women of the Tuareg tribe (the "Blue People" ) as a welcome and blessing. In the workshop, Sharon will teach history and cultural context, steps and movements (most of the movements involve specific hand gestures), show
examples of traditional clothing and jewelry from her collection, and at the end, all participants will do the Guedra together. The length of the workshop is 2 and 1/2 hours and participants will need to bring something comfortable to sit on that that's low to the ground and a queen size unfitted sheet. Margaret Johnson will facilitate discussions including the following topics:
       
The Woman Experience (what it feels like to live in this skin) and how we perceive that it differs from the Male Experience
       
Motherhood - giving of self while retaining self
       
Being a Daughter - love, real and perceived expectations and the need to break free.
       
Woman as Muse
        The Error of the Nuclear Family

 
Book Exchange/Sharing - Everyone is encouraged to bring any book they can bear to part with and leave it there for someone else to take. It would be good to put a note or letter in the book explaining why you brought it or why you recommend it, etc.

There is no meal plan offered for the Women's Gather but...
       
The facilities of The Starvin artist will be open for all to use. We are hoping to have all meals together under the Kitchen Pavilion, from Saturday morning breakfast through Sunday Bunch.
        Saturday dinner will be a potluck. Everyone is encouraged to bring a dish to share on Saturday. Please do bring your own eating utensils.
