    Fires Rising is a magickal invitation to drummers, dancers, chanters, ritualists, mask-makers, visual artists, poets and dream-weavers to delve into a remarkable four-day experience of Universal Fire Circle Alchemy. We will explore the deepest of all mysteries, The Great Work; of transforming all we touch into Gold. Fires Rising 2008 is the fourth year of this evolutionary experiment, and we will deepen our understanding of the Alchemical process, individually and collectively implementing the advanced alchemical formulas that are blended into the flow of this unique ritual working.

    Celebrants from our previous Alchemical journeys are excited to join with you in a ever-refining distillation of music, song, magick, dance and poetic offerings which reflect the flowering of a new mixture of these sacred arts. This synthesis features elements which make Fires Rising unique:

    Alchemical Rhythmatism: a powerful collaborative method designed to guide individual musicians towards direct engagement with each other, service to the circle as a whole, and conscious identification with the alchemical implications of their own artistic process.

    A new, evolving framework for personal healing and self-sustainable wellness practices which draws upon the energetic vortex of the Fire Circle itself.

    An invitation for groups of celebrants to conspire together, visioning and preparing whole-circle participatory ritual, dance or art moments to bring to the Fire.

    A daily process attended by everyone, designed to align the community in intention and approach, focusing on the empowerment of each individual to step forward with their own unique offerings.

    Fires Rising represents what we believe to be the cutting edge of the development of Fire Circle Alchemy!

    In clear contrast to fire circles elsewhere, Fires Rising is an intentional alchemical working, based on a seven stage model that moves us from the darkest depths of the earth to the ecstatic heights of the stars and beyond, and back again to earth.

    Alchemical formulae and metaphors flow through and inform all aspects of the gathering, thereby increasing the potency and effectiveness of our magickal work together. All participants are strongly encouraged to invest themselves in studying the materials in The Re-Sourcery. These magical texts are an introduction to our Alchemical Process, and contain the keys that enable us all to conspire, receive, and bestow nightly offerings of sacred art, ritual, word, and song that magnify the related alchemical phases.

   Those who have previously attended
Fires Rising are asked to carefully re-read
the Fires Rising FAQ, Ceremonial Orientation
and Considerations pages as they contain
new methods in both alchemical ritual
and music making which are
central to the new working.

   Together, we will work the balance of chaos and cosmos, freedom and form, in a potent magickal brew. There will be portions of the process that are completely open and uncontrolled, and other portions that are meticulously calibrated. For example, there will be a series of highly recommended and inspiring workshops for all drummers or percussionists who wish to participate in the Musical Magic of our nightly journeys.    All Celebrants are asked to arrive early in the afternoon on Thursday and stay until Monday morning.
   All attendees must intend to arrive by Friday!
   Please arrive prepared to fully devote yourself to an extraordinary experiment in producing, inviting, and celebrating the mysteries of transformation.

    Come to play like there is no tomorrow, to practice like brilliance is at hand, to move like the groove is your birthright, and to make friendships like they were written in the stars. Come to be magic and music, to apply the power of a healthy ordeal to your personal ascension, and come to dive ever deeper into the Art of the Philosophers....

    Early In and Late Out camping is $5 a night for Members. And $10 a night for non-members.

Four Quarters has two hot shower buildings equipped with super low-flow dual-flush toilets, state of the art on-demand heaters for our low-flow showers and drinking water spigots throughout the camp.
