Join us for our annual homecoming and celebration of the Delights of Spring – it’s Beltaine at Four Quarters! Time for the season of hibernation to end, and the season of joyous activity and growth to begin! Come and see the Land in its springtime splendor, bedecked in a blanket of wildflowers and budding trees, with every morning borne on the music of songbirds. Greet the tribemates you haven’t seen all winter, and bring new friends to learn what Four Quarters is all about!

In addition to all your gear and springtime finery, please bring flowers to share with the Beltaine ceremonialists. We want to the see the beauty of flowers everywhere we turn, so, if you would, pick up a grocery store bouquet or two on your way, and drop them off at the buckets by the Coffee Dragons.
MayPole Dance.jpg (14097 bytes)
Friday night join us for our First Fire celebration in the Fire Circle, where we burn sacred woods and offerings to sustain the sacredness of the Land. For the children, we host a storytelling hour at our Bardic Circle. Saturday is a full day complete with workshops on singing, crafting, Earth Spirituality, Ecology & Sustainability. In the afternoon we raise the May Pole to bless the land with fertility, life and love. The whole Tribe is welcome to lend a hand to raise the May Pole, dance and sing.

After a sumptious Feast by the Starvin' Artist crew, we concregate in the Fire Circle for Ice Cream dessert and the Members Meeting where we lend our ears and our voices to the Community. Topics include news from the Winter and projects for the Summer Season. At Main Ceremony we focus our spiritual intent to the giving and receiving of Blessings. Capping off the day the Tribemates congregate for a joyous Fire Circle.

After Sunday morning meditations and yoga, we gather as the Children of the Tribe raise the Seed Stone, where we pass on our Traditions of Stone Raising to the next generation. At Closing Ceremony we re-affirm our committment to living Spiritually with respect for our Mother Earth.

Looking forward to being involved? Keep an eye on the Four Quarters Forum for news about ceremonial needs, and reminders about the festival.

~~Beltaine Schedule 2009~~

Friday, May 1
7pm: Traditional First Fire Ceremony at the Community Fire Circle with Dougie. Bringing it back to the basics of thankfulness for having what we needed to live through the winter.
9pm: Storytelling for kids at the Bardic Circle "The reading of The Lorax".
Followed by the Opening Bardic Circle of the season

Saturday, May 2

10am - Noon: Reweaving the Web of the World with Elspeth. "We have each chosen to be born into this time; amid the degrading environment, the ending of fossil energy, the rapid socio-political changes, and the growing knowledge of the power of the individual to alter reality. Only when we learn to see the patterns, and recognize the intrinsic values of each being, will we begin to find our own place in it, and recognize our power to be the co-creators of a more compassionate and sustainable world."
11am - Noon: Chants for Fire Circle with Patricia. A chance to learn favorite chants to give as vocal offerings at Four Quarters' Fire Circles.
11am - Noon: Kids Tribe Activities with Em and John. Craft time where the kids recycle and repurpose common materials.
11am - 2pm: Amulet-pouring workshop with Brendan. Brendan and gang will be pouring the aluminum "Seed Stone" amulets to give to the kids after the Seed Stone pull on Sunday morning!
11am - 2pm: Craft Asylum at the Coffee Dragon. "Do you, like many of us, have a little secret? Something you could stop "any time" if you wanted to? But since you don't want to, you carry it around with you, and devote yourself to it whenever you have a few minutes...You know what I'm talking about. That craft project that goes wherever you go. Maybe it's knitting, or crocheting, or beading, or macrame, or some other form of Making... it was probably first on your packing list for the Farm, wasn't it? That's what the Craft Asylum is for... all us crazies who carry our handcrafts around with us. Come sit, have a cup of coffee (keep it away from my yarn, thank you very much!), keep your hands busy, and let's play! "
Noon - 2pm: Wreath Making for Maypole Ribbons with Allison and Erin. Where many crafty hands are needed to decorate the two Maypole wreaths with ribbons and flowers.
1pm - 2pm: Stones Rising Call for Content with the Stones planning committee. We know that our members have lots of knowledge on topics of Sustainable Living, Gardening, Building, Earth Spirituality, Holistic Living, and more. Here is your chance to share that knowledge in the form of workshops or activites that we can schedule for Stones Rising 2009.

2pm - 4pm: Raising and Dancing the Maypole with Mel. Bring out your dancing feet and frolicky finery for this ceremonial Springtime blessing of the Land
2pm - 4pm: Kids Tribe Activies with Em and John in the High Meadow. Games and dancing for the kids in the Meadow.

4pm - 6 pm: Feast at the Starvin' Artist!

6pm - 7:30pm: Members Meeting in front of the Main Stage. Bring a chair and take this opportunity to provide your input on what’s in the works! ICE CREAM DESSERT WILL BE SERVED!

8pm: Beltaine Ceremony with Aase in the Stone Circle at the ringing of the Church Bell. The giving and receiving of gifts between ourselves, the Tribe, and the Land.
Followed by Community Fire Circle and Bardic Circle

Sunday, May 3
9am - 10am A Journey into Healing with Elspeth. "This journey is a present life regression for the purpose of recognizing wounds and healing them. You will have the opportunity to examine neglected, wounded, and painful places in your life; and to heal them. Do not eat just before this working; bring something to lie down on, and prepare to work hard."
11am: Seed Stone Rising at the Stone Circle. One of the most important Traditions that we can teach our children about the Tribe of Four Quarters is the Knowledge of Raising Stones. All children are welcome! Come work the rollers and ropes to raise the Seed Stone..

Followed by Closing Ceremony with Dougie in the Stone Circle
